Metal Color is a new range of water-based metallic colors, especially designed for airbrushing. In the development of these new and innovative metallic colors, the latest generation of aluminum pigments has been used in a specifically designed formula which results in a series of colors of exceptional resistance and adherence to plastics and metal. Metal Color can be applied directly on models without the need for the use of a primer, although in the case of fuselages and components for airplane models it is recommended to first apply a glossy Black Primer to bring forth the unique and special quality of the aluminum finish. The range of Metal Color consists of 19 references, available in 32ml. bottles with a flip top/eyedropper closure. Contains 19 Metal Color in 32 ml./1.08 fl.oz. bottles. For a complete list of products available on Vallejo racks please click here.
Model Air is a range of liquid acrylic colours developed especially for airbrush techniques, with very finely ground pigments and an acrylic resin with properties of extreme resistence and durability. The formula contains a new acrylic resin with properties until now impossible to obtain in a waterbased acrylic. The resistence, hardness and covering power of Model Air is superior to any known acrylic for airbrushing. The pigments used for airbrush colours need to be ground to the finest possible consistency to avoid obstruction of the airbrush valves. The revolutionary milling process of the pigments used in the Model Air formula gives the modelpainter technical assurance and finest texture when applying the colours to the model, and produces a very superior qualtity when applying the colours with a brush for miniscule details, for washes and transparencies and layered application of diluted glazes. Colours can be mixed with one another, diluted with water, Model Air Thinner or Varnish, according to the effect desired, but we recommend the use of Model Air Thinner since this product conserves the properties of the colours. Model Air adheres excepcionally well to all surfaces. The adhesion of Model Air to resin models, plastics, steel and white metal is extraordinary. Once protected with varnish, (Gloss, Matte or Satin) Model Air can be overpainted with solvent based enamels or oilcolours: they withstand cleaning with turpentine and even a light wash with alcohol. The resistance to abrasion of the colours, once varnished, is superior to any other waterbased acrylic. The new lower Model Air rack allows for the addition of two extra shelves for other product sizes. You can include 2 extra shelves for 17 ml./0.57 fl.oz. bottles and add, for example, a range like Panzer Aces or 3 extra shelves for 35 ml./1.18 fl.oz. or 60 ml./2.02 fl.oz. bottles so it is possible to make different product combinations. For a complete list of products available on Vallejo racks please click here.
AV PREMIUM is a safe water-based, non toxic and highly versatile airbrush ready paint, suitable for all surfaces, but especially formulated for superior adhesion to metals, fibreglass, polyethylene, clear Lexanª polycarbonate, slot car and RC bodies, and all tuning and automotive applications. On some of these surfaces we recommend a basecoat of the Polyurethane Primer (62.061) for best results. Premium colors are flexible and exceptionally durable and permit prolonged exposure to weather without fading or losing their brilliance.
Premium colors have been formulated with micronized, permanent pigments and an extremely resistant, exterior grade hybrid resin-polyurethane base, which withstands impacts, resists chipping and cracking, as well as direct exposure to heat and outdoor elements without cracking or fading, and is fuel residue proof up to a least 35% Nitro.
AV Premium colors have superior flow, they are self-levelling and brush on with exceptional ease. For
airbrushing, the colors can be used directly from the bottle when using a nozzle size 0,3. For the metallic colors some dilution might be necessary, and for smaller nozzles (O.2mm or less) the use of the Reducer (62.066)
may be required. The recommended compressor setting is 30-60psi (2-4 bar).
The range consists of 20 bright opaque colors, 23 dazzling metallics and fluorescents, and 9 shimmering transparent Candy Colors. All colors are as suitable for detail work as for covering large surfaces and can be applied by brush as well as by airbrush.Contains 60 colors in 60 ml./2.02 fl.oz. bottles, boxes of 6 units.
