  • Model Air is a range of liquid acrylic colours developed especially for airbrush techniques, with very finely ground pigments and an acrylic resin with properties of extreme resistence and durability.
The formula contains a new acrylic resin with properties until now impossible to obtain in a waterbased acrylic. The resistence, hardness and covering power of Model Air is superior to any known acrylic for airbrushing. The pigments used for airbrush colours need to be ground to the finest possible consistency to avoid obstruction of the airbrush valves. The revolutionary milling process of the pigments used in the Model Air formula gives the modelpainter technical assurance and finest texture when applying the colours to the model, and produces a very superior qualtity when applying the colours with a brush for miniscule details, for washes and transparencies and layered application of diluted glazes. Colours can be mixed with one another, diluted with water, Model Air Thinner or Varnish, according to the effect desired, but we recommend the use of Model Air Thinner since this product conserves the properties of the colours. Model Air adheres excepcionally well to all surfaces. The adhesion of Model Air to resin models, plastics, steel and white metal is extraordinary. Once protected with varnish, (Gloss, Matte or Satin) Model Air can be overpainted with solvent based enamels or oilcolours: they withstand cleaning with turpentine and even a light wash with alcohol. The resistance to abrasion of the colours, once varnished, is superior to any other waterbased acrylic.
The new lower Model Air rack allows for the addition of two extra shelves for other product sizes. You can include 2 extra shelves for 17 ml./0.57 fl.oz. bottles and add, for example, a range like Panzer Aces or 3 extra shelves for 35 ml./1.18 fl.oz. or 60 ml./2.02 fl.oz. bottles so it is possible to make different product combinations. For a complete list of products available on Vallejo racks please click here.

  • For armor, vehicles, planes, ship, figures and war game figures. All surfaces exposed to sun, wind and dust, rain and snow, experience a change in color, a loss of intensity, a dulling and general fading which however is not even or overall. For the model painter, these changes in color are very difficult to reproduce, and to achieve these effects on a model, washes or filters are the perfect solution. The washes are always needed to blend the edges of the colors on a model painted in various camouflage shades. The colors can also be mixed together to achieve further variations of shade and can be used with airbrush or brush, according to the model and the effect desired.

  • New formula acrylic colors with a satin finish, extra resistant and impact proof especially designed for airbrushing surfaces exposed to aggressive manipulation. The advanced formulation contains a revolutionary component which guarantees exceptional adherence on even the most difficult surfaces, and offers great resistance to rough handling, impact, friction, scratches, etc. Once dry, the Mecha surface looks the same as the original plastic of the model, while yet the smallest details of the original remain clearly visible. The color range includes primers as well as special varnishes – also with an exclusive formulation- and a series of colors for aging and weathering effects. It is recommended to apply the Mecha colors in several layers on the previously primed surface; a few hours after application the colors will have dried to form a homogenous coating of extraordinary strength and resistance. Mecha Color can be airbrushed directly or diluted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver, and the colors can also be applied by brush. The compressor adjustment recommended is 15 – 20 PSI o 0.5 to 1 kg. For best airbrush maintenance we recommend using the Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.
  • Glaze Medium is a colorless glaze, used to mix with acrylic colors; improves fluidity, increases transparency, and slows drying time. Ideal for shadows, shadings, glazes and working with pigments.

  • Matt Medium extends the colors, increases their fluidity and transparence, and softens the blending of brush strokes. It heightens the flexibility of the colors, and their adhesion to the surface. Does not yellow or change tonality of the color. Can also be used as a binder for dry pigment.

  • The pigment set includes a step by step guide by Chema Cabrero to assist in creating the effects of Dust & Dirt on models and dioramas.

  • Game Color is a range of vivid colors especially developed for painting all kinds of fantasy figures and models. The colors can be applied and mixed with one another easily, and dry to a mat and self-levelling finish without leaving traces of brushstrokes. The pigments employed have been selected for their brilliance, maximum stability and light fastness. The formulation of these colors, using the most recently developed acrylic resins, guarantees perfect adherence and permanence on all kinds of surfaces – plastic, resin, metal, etc. Errors can be corrected immediately with water or alcohol; once dry, the colors are waterproof and permanent.
